This years Annual Workshop was held on 10th July at the BVSC centre for Voluntary Action Located in the heart of Birmingham city centre.

Here are some comments from the delegates that attended:

Please pass on my thanks to all involved in putting on last Saturday's workshop.

We are lucky to have such dedicated members.

See you at the next one - with luck.

I would also like to add my thanks to all the committee involved in organising such a good day!

It was lovely to see some faces that I could put to email addresses and to meet up with colleagues not seen for a while!

The venue for me (as a car driver) was also a good location, just a shame no afternoon tea for a 'tea addict' like me but apart from that I too think it was a good choice for meeting up and holding a workshop.

Simon's afternoon presentation certainly gave me lots to think about on the drive home.  What a shame so many lipspeakers who did not attend missed such an informative day!

Very much look forward to seeing everyone again at our next workshop or AGM, best wishes to all.

Thank you for organising such a great workshop.

Having not attended a workshop for far too long it reminded me as to what I had been missing!

I am so pleased I came and flew the flag for the SW Regional Group.  I will be reporting back at the next Regional Meeting.

Very many thanks for organising such a good workshop yesterday in Birmingham.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day and found the afternoon speaker was exactly who we needed to tackle the quite tricky area of safeguarding. Simon Bickerton certainly gave us a lot to think about and enough supporting papers to provide a thorough reminder of the ground we all covered. I know I shall be reading through these a number of times before writing up my review of the day. When I have it the way I want it I can include it in My Portfolio!

The venue was really good for us, so close to the station and yet quiet, spacious and well equipped and, dare I say it, nice and cool.

Many thanks to Sara for stepping in and providing a really good presentation of Jackie Griffiths workshop power point presentation from last year's Spring Workshop in Bristol. It was an excellent reminder for those of us who were there last year but so good to be able to run through it again with others who were seeing it for the first time. The beauty of having members from across the country is to be able to share the wide (work) experiences we each bring and which need to inform us when making big decisions around choosing a cpd system that suits all of us.

The deaf@x view talk camera looks like a great addition to our promotion potential and do hope the bits Sara managed to capture during the day will be transferable to our web site at some point. I love the way we all learn about quite new things at our workshops.

Seeing and meeting is the great social part we never seem to have quite enough time for, but that just makes us really look forward to the next time!

Yesterday was also a really useful opportunity for us to catch up on training and other ways of gaining the cpd we need to start adding to our professional lives. I hope the handout we put on seats at the beginning of the morning will help everyone to get started on rejuvenating the regional groups through the London Group workshop and e-book club ideas.

I am really pleased that the ALS North group want to offer that morning and will be e-mailing the pack to Carol later this week.

I am very pleased with receiving TWO certificates of attendance for one really good day out and they are now safely away.
