ALS membership is open to lipspeakers and to others who have an interest in lipspeaking. There are two categories of membership:

• Full membership - open to certificated lipspeakers
• Associate membership - open to lipreaders and others with an interest in lipspeaking.

Membership offers you:

1. the opportunity to keep up with news and views through our regularly updated website and emails
2. training days and workshops covering many areas of professional development
3. regional groups - who provide fellowship and support, local information and a good network of useful contacts
4. Conference - with speakers covering topics of concern to lipspeakers and current interest in the field of deafness
5. Annual General Meeting - where members are able to influence the work of the Association
6. an active committee that works on your behalf to see that lipspeaking and its good practice is promoted, recognised and made available as widely as possible.
